Who am I? Where Did I Come From? Where Am I Going? In The Beginning God ... or Man? |
Welcome to For an Answer! For an Answer is a Christian ministry dedicated to defending the Historic Christian Faith. We believe the Bible to be God's inerrant Word. We believe God's Word to be sufficient for any endeavor, including and especially defending our faith. The Bible tells us "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16). God calls us to "always be ready to provide a reason for the hope we have, but to do this with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15). These verses are foundational to the mission of For an Answer. Our goal is to provide a reasoned defense of the Historic Christian faith through sound Biblical exegesis, supplemented with grammatical, historical, textual, and philosophical research. We shall strive to be gentle, respectful, and always ready in the defense of the faith we cherish. We seek to serve the Christian community, to "equip" fellow Christians for the "good work" of defending our faith. We also welcome skeptics and followers of other faiths to examine these pages as well. Our resources consist of the Apologists Bible Commentary, Topical Studies, Search the Bible page, and Links to other sites of interest. The Apologists Bible Commentary - a work that will forever be in progress - is a verse-by-verse exegesis of selected Scriptural passages, which either provide positive evidence for essential Christian doctrine, or have been used by non-Christians to undermine essential doctrine. Topical Studies focus on specific areas of interest, such as the Trinity, Biblical Monotheism, or the Transcendental Argument for the Existence of God. In each of these resources, we will attempt to answer historic and contemporary objections and challenges. You can search eight popular Bible translations on our Search the Bible page, courtesy of our friends at Gospelcom. The Internet contains a number of excellent Christian sites; we'll try to point you to some of them in our Links section. We strive to be accurate in our exegesis ("rightly dividing the word of truth") and in our research. If you find any errors or inaccuracies, please let us know! We pray these pages may be a blessing to you. |
